Our 6-step Process to Adopting a Golden Retriever Puppy

Application
Stage

It is of utmost importance to us that our own-bred Golden Retriever puppies are rehomed to families who are able and willing to provide responsible, loving, and excellent overall care for them. We treat our puppies as our own babies, and so is the expectation of adopting families. In order to ensure both responsible breeding practices and that your family is ready to adopt a Golden Retriever puppy, we ask that you fill out our application form. We do ask for a reference who knows you well and can attest to the way you care for your dogs. We also ask for a link to at least one of your personal or professional social media accounts, if one is available. A $50 application fee is required to process your application and is used to compensate our staff in assisting you during the onboarding stage. All information submitted remains confidential and is not shared. Thank you for putting your trust with us to provide your next adorable Golden Retriever puppy who will be your best friend for years to come.

Application Review Stage

Additional questions may be asked to better understand your readiness for a Golden Retriever puppy. References will also be contacted to gather more information about your experience and readiness with caring for a puppy. We use a wholesome approach to form our decision whether we feel you are ready to adopt a puppy. If we do feel you are able and ready, we will share that with you and allow 24 hours for your response that expresses your willingness to commit. If we don’t hear back from you within that timeframe, we will assume that you decided to discontinue the adoption process, and your personal info will be discarded.

On-Boarding & Mutual Commitment stage

This step involves signing an agreement that lists our obligations and your commitments, as well as signing the Puppy Health Guarantee document. At this point we ask for a $500 nonrefundable deposit to reserve your Golden Retriever puppy and guarantee your spot in the litter. The deposit will be applied to the total purchase price of $4,000.

Puppies Mature and the Litter Gets Ready

This is the stage when you feel like you just can’t wait for your Golden Retriever puppy to come home. We do understand that you wish to receive frequent updates, photos and videos. However, due to the fact that caring for the litter is time consuming and is done around the clock we will provide updates around every two weeks. The puppies will be dewormed every two weeks, receive their first round of vaccines, and visit the vet for a health check. In addition, the whole litter will go to Puppies and Yoga twice for a weekend full of exercise, human interaction, while developing their social skills and having a fun time.

Picking Out Your Puppy

Choosing the right Golden Retriever puppy for your family is an exciting time, and we are here at your side throughout this process. For puppy selection, we will share pictures and videos of the litter at around week 4, as well as share our observation of puppies’ temperament. A Zoom video call can be arranged as well. We allow each person or family a 24-hour window to pick out their pup. In the event that more than one family picked a specific pup, we will intervene to assist and may conduct a raffle for final determination.

Re-homing Day

This would be your most exciting day, when you get to take your Golden Retriever puppy home. You will be provided with paperwork, guidance, and your new best friend. Please prepare ahead of time for your travel with the new puppy. You are welcome to use our helpful links and guides in preparation for your pup. This is not the end of the journey for our relationship, we are here at your side may you need our support. In addition, we provide a one-year health guarantee that covers hereditary illnesses and incurable diseases. We do ask that you take your puppy to the vet within seven days of rehoming to ensure a smooth transition process for your new family member.
